Tottenham Hotspur Football Club has a rich and illustrious history and one of their biggest legends is the inspirational Bill Nicholson. As a player, Nicholson was a member of the Spurs side that won the First Division in 1950-51 and he followed that up by leading the club to the first domestic Double of league and FA Cup in 1960-61.


To commemorate 10 years since the Spurs legend passed away, Sport Media teamed up with the club to produce a unique A4 programme for its Premier League game against Newcastle United in November, 2014. The lavishly produced special edition was packed with unique content and rare images from the archive and was extremely well received.  The 100 page perfect bound collector's edition, which was excellent value at £5, proved a winner with fans and produced a real uplift in sales both on the day and after the game.

Fabrice Muamba: 'I'm Still Standing'

When Fabrice Muamba collapsed on the pitch at White Hart Lane on March 17, 2012 during an FA Cup tie between Tottenham Hotspur and Bolton Wanderers, the world held its breath. Muamba's heart stopped beating for 78 minutes but miraculously, he survived.


When Muamba announced his retirement from the game in August 2012, Sport Media acted quickly and contacted the player to see if he would be prepared to tell the world his story. Senior writer Chris Brereton did a remarkable job liaising with Muamba and ensuring we got the book to market in record time. It enabled Muamba to pay tribute to the heroic medical team who saved his life and to thank fans all over the country for their support.


Produced as a Royal format trade paperback priced £12.99, the striking book cover featured Muamba pulling up his shirt to reveal the defiant message 'I'm Still Standing'. It was hailed as 'the most touching sports story of the year'.

'Steven Gerrard: My Captain's Book' took the reader behind the scenes at Anfield, allowing Gerrard to tell the story of his remarkable rise from Academy hopeful to skipper of Liverpool and England.


A special photoshoot was commissioned for the title and personal interviews at Liverpool's Melwood training ground saw Gerrard speak passionately of his pride at wearing the armband, revealing his matchday secrets, his role models and rivals and the personal inspiration behind the Reds' stunning Champions League triumph in Istanbul.


This hardback title was beautifully illustrated and designed and produced for the Christmas market. The book was powerfully marketed through Trinity Mirror's Liverpool Echo newspaper and website resulting in record sales. A softback was produced the following year which also proved extremely popular.
